We are looking for strong Senior Jira Administrator to support our cloud application suite. This position is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and extending our Atlassian suite. Within this role, you will directly affect process implementation, integrate Atlassian products with other internal applications, and drive efficiencies for our organization.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Jira Cloud Administration:
    • Oversee and manage Jira Cloud environments, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence.
    • Architect and design the overall system setup for Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian Access, ensuring scalability and robustness.
    • Design, implement, and maintain custom workflows, automation rules, and issue types tailored to business requirements.
    • Develop long-term strategies for deploying and scaling Atlassian products to meet organizational growth and goals.
  • Jira Service Management (JSM) & Opsgenie:
    • Manage JSM configurations, including queues, SLAs, service portals, and customer support workflows.
    • Implement and manage request types, forms, and automation to improve IT service management processes.
    • Configure and manage Opsgenie alerts based on SLA escalation policies, ensuring incident resolution and escalation processes run smoothly.
    • Oversee user management, setting appropriate permissions and access controls across Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian products.
  • Asset Management:
    • Implement and maintain Jira Service Management’s Asset Management module to track and manage hardware, software, and other critical assets.
    • Design asset tracking processes and integrate Jira assets with 3rd party applications to optimize asset lifecycle management.
  • Integrations & Customizations:
    • Integrate Jira Cloud with third-party applications using REST APIs and ensure seamless data flow between Jira Cloud and enterprise systems.
    • Integrate Jira and Confluence with other tools and platforms used within the organization.
    • Create and manage custom scripts (using Jira Automation or third-party add-ons) to automate tasks and workflows.
    • Migrate data centers to cloud or execute cloud-to-cloud migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
  • Compliance & Security:
    • Ensure the deployment of Atlassian products complies with data security standards and regulations.
    • Regularly conduct security audits and assessments of the Atlassian environment, implementing industry best practices.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Gather and analyze requirements from different stakeholders to ensure the Atlassian suite meets their needs and operational requirements.
    • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise with the use of Atlassian products.
    • Document architecture designs, configurations, and procedures, sharing knowledge with team members and ensuring business continuity.
  • Licensing, Budgeting & Reporting:
    • Manage licenses for Atlassian products, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.
    • Manage the budget related to Atlassian products, ensuring the use of cost-effective solutions while meeting business needs.
    • Develop and manage reporting systems within Jira and Confluence to support decision-making processes.
    • Plan and manage the capacity of Atlassian applications to ensure they can scale with growing organizational needs.
  • Continuous Learning & Improvement:
    • Stay informed about new features and technologies related to Atlassian products and assess their applicability to the organization.
    • Provide advanced user support for Jira Software, JSM, and Opsgenie, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
    • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to guide end-users and administrators on best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in Jira Cloud administration, including Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence.

  • Tools: Proficiency in Jira Cloud, JSM, Asset Management, Opsgenie, and relevant integrations.
  • Customization: Hands-on experience with Jira automation rules, custom workflows, and project configuration.
  • Asset Management: Strong understanding of Asset Management practices within Jira Service Management and their integration with 3rd party systems.
  • Opsgenie: Experience configuring and managing Opsgenie, including escalation policies, alerting rules, and on-call schedules.
  • Integrations & Migrations: Proven experience in integrating Jira with other tools using REST APIs and executing migration projects (data center to cloud, cloud-to-cloud).
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Compliance & Security: In-depth understanding of security standards and regulations for deploying Atlassian products.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Atlassian Certifications are a plus.
  • Jira Cloud Instance: Must have access to a personal Jira Cloud instance to perform real-time activities and hands-on tasks during the interview process.
